Alex and I simply made the choice to remain in our apartment for another year. While we would not state no to a little more square footage, we enjoy our neighborhood and block so much we could not leave. Because we are staying, we are attempting to do something really grown-up, something I’ve actually never done prior to: redecorate.

Out of nowhere, I am checking One Kings Lane daily. I made a Pinterest board for furnishings. I secure my measuring tape daily. It’s all extremely uncharacteristic.

We purpose to calm the assortment of books, stacks of cookbooks, fluttering documents and exploding file boxes that interrupt our living room. One of my various other priorities is to add a dining table to the space. Right now, we’ve a wooden table in the kitchen where we never sit and a coffee table in the living-room where we always do.

For as long as I’ve actually stayed in New york city, I’ve actually felt perfectly fine consuming at the coffee table, whether by myself, with Alex, or with buddies (as imagined above). The important parts of any supper have actually always been the business and the food. That’s the BGSK means. So why do I all of a sudden yearn for a chair and a table of appropriate height (specifically this one)? Who knows.

Anyway, it’s made me curious: do you eat generally at your coffee table? Advocate floor cushions? Or have any redecoration advice whereby a table will fit into a little space where no table has been placed before?
